Geocaching is a real-world treasure hunt that is fun for the whole family or groups of any age. Using GPS devices, participants locate hidden “caches” that contain prizes and souvenirs.

Movies such as Raiders of the Lost Ark, Pirates of the Caribbean, Romancing the Stone and Goonies all fuel the treasure hunting fantasy. This is a group activity full of adventure, mystery, excitement and fun. The good news is the danger and bad guys have been cut out of the scenario. The better news is you are still in for a really fun time. Lead your own adventure. Find hidden treasure. Make memories of a lifetime.

Spring Creek Ranch has its own private geocaching course on the 1,000-acre property. GPS are available for rent or purchase. You are also welcome to use your own GPS device if you bring it along. Many smartphones are equipped with GPS and can be used to play.

This is a great activity for families, large groups such as wedding parties, bachelor or bachelorette parties, family reunions, birthday celebrations, or can be used as a business team building exercise. Geocaching involves teamwork, problem solving and communication. It’s a bonding experience that is sure to bring a group closer together, highlight skills and bring out the fun-loving, treasure-hunting kid in everyone.

At Spring Creek Ranch, we maintain a geocaching private course, which allows for innovation and higher quality rewards.

That being said, Geocaching isn’t just limited to Spring Creek Ranch in Jackson, Hole. The entire town is loaded with hidden “caches”. If you are extending your adventure beyond Spring Creek Ranch’s 1,000 acres, be sure to bring some prizes and souvenirs from your own hometown to leave for the next geocachers.
