National Elk Refuge Sleigh Ride - Imagine taking a horse-drawn
sleigh ride among an elk herd numbering in the thousands. This is such a great opportunity
to see wildlife up close with scenic mountains as a backdrop, a ride that is very
unique to the Jackson area.
Enjoy a terrific lunch after your trip out to the National Elk Refuge. The
Rising Sage Café located in the National Museum of Wildlife
Art is a great place to view some art, have lunch and view the vast number of elk
on the refuge.

Climbing

Jackson Hole offers two rock climbing gyms, located just mintues from Spring Creek Ranch. These rock climbing gyms are a masterpiece of geometric design, a rare place where the first-time climber can work out moves side-by-side with an expert in a friendly, non-competitive atmosphere. Surface varieties range from steep slabs to huge overhangs, from easy vertical to obtuse stemming walls, as well as two bouldering caves for the ultimate in endurance training and power. If you're new to the sport, many easy-grade routes allow you develop quickly. Private , group lessons, and rental equipment are available.
Mountain Climbing - The Teton Range is home to some of the best climbing in North America. Guide services offer trips into the Tetons for all level of ability, and for the beginner they offer several courses in climbing and general mountaineering.

Cross Country Skiing

The oldest form of skiing, documented by 4000 year old cave murals in Norway, provides
one of the best ways of experiencing winter, improving fitness and learning about
skiing.
Cross country ski beneath the majesty of the heart of the Teton Range. The user-friendly
flats to Jenny Lake or the hills around Bradley Taggert Lakes offer something for
everyone.
Ski rentals, lessons, and guided tours are also available.

Downhill Skiing

Jackson offers some of the best powder and groomed skiing in the country. For all
experience levels and ages, Jackson skiing is something you should not miss. With
three ski resorts in the area you can find great variety in your skiing vacation,
including night skiing and deep powder C.A.T. skiing.

Dog Sledding

Experience the rugged outdoors as the early explorers did. Learn how to drive the
dog sled or sit back and relax in your blanketed cozy sled while you enjoy the winter
wonderland.
No other method of travel over snow can compare with dog sledding. The only sounds
are the shushing of the runners, perhaps the panting of the dogs and the wind in
your face.

Galleries / Museums
The
National Museum of Wildlife Art - overlooking the National Elk Refuge, this unique
building houses the nation's premeire collection of fine at devoted to wildlife.
For young visitors, there's a Children's Gallery - a self-directed activity center
for ages 3 - 10. After browsing in the galleries, stop by the
Rising Sage Café for
a delicious lunch or snack.
Ripleys Believe it or Not -You've seen the show, come see the real artifacts. Over
160 bizarre artifacts & 7 videos that will leave you amazed. The whole family will
love it!
Jackson has many galleries to choose from. Most on or around the town square. The
local Jackson paper has a listing of all galleries and museums.

Heli Skiing

Get
ready for the experience of a lifetime with amazing powder skiing. Enjoy a day in

Ice Skating
Jackson offers both indoor and outdoor skating rinks throughout the winter. Strap
on the skates and enjoy the indoor ice at Snow King Resort. There is hockey on Friday
nights as well as other organized activities. Outside at the base of Snow King is
a quaint rink, perfect for the outdoor enthusiast.

Parks and Recreation Department

Enjoy
an indoor pool, a lap pool, hot tub, 185' water slide, steam room and sauna. The
Parks and Rec department also offers a variety of summer and winter programs.

Snowshoe Tours
Journey into a breathtaking winter wonderland with a naturalist guide. After a scenic
and informative drive through Jackson Hole you will trek across the snow interpreting
the landscape. While looking for animals, their tracks and signs, you will discuss
local history, geology and the natural history of the area.

Shopping in Jackson Hole
The town of Jackson has many wonderful shops and galleries to lose yourself in for
an afternoon. Take your time strolling on the wooden sidewalks, looking for the
ultimate Wyoming memento. Stop at one of the many outstanding restaurants for lunch.
